Sumit Gupta is the Co-Founder and CEO of CoinDCX, India's first cryptocurrency unicorn and the country's largest crypto exchange. An IIT Bombay alumnus with dual degrees in Electrical Engineering (B.Tech) and Communications & Signal Processing (M.Tech), Sumit's entrepreneurial journey began early — he started his first business at the age of eight, selling video games in his hometown.

After graduating from IIT Bombay, Sumit worked as a software engineer at Sony in Tokyo — where he ideated and developed the Auto-Portrait Framing feature now used across all Sony Cyber-shot cameras. He then co-founded ListUp, one of India's first location-based marketplaces for pre-owned electronics, backed by Kae Capital and Kunal Shah, which grew into a multimillion-dollar business within a year.

When Bitcoin started gaining global traction, Sumit recognized blockchain's transformative potential for financial inclusion and co-founded CoinDCX in 2018 with his IIT classmate Neeraj Khandelwal. Today, CoinDCX operates as DCX Group — serving over 20 million users across India and the UAE, with annualized revenues exceeding ₹1,179 crore and assets under custody over ₹10,000 crore.

In March 2026, Sumit announced the Digital Suraksha Network (D.S.N.) — a ₹100 crore commitment from CoinDCX to build the cyber safety infrastructure India's digital finance ecosystem needs.

The initiative addresses systemic brand impersonation fraud — open to all fintechs, crypto platforms, banks, and digital lenders.
